God helped him draw the curtain!

Drawing the curtain felt good,he felt as if a burden had been lifted from him.It was the curtain which hid the light that seemed absent in his life.He had reached a point where he did not know the definition of good or bad.He would laugh at things which were sad to others, cry when he is supposed to laugh. The people close to him alienated themselves from him. When he needed them the most, they fled.He did it for them and now he is paying the price. They could not see it then so what would open their eyes now?

He took the job knowing too  well, the consequences of his actions. His optimistic nature made him emerge victorious in the many challenges thrown at him.Nothing put Jack down, not even disease nor lack of money.Family mattered to him,his source of joy and hope.He knew he had to tell them what he really felt and still feels now that they had abandoned him.He had to speak out or else he would burst with frustration and anger.

Jack called his wife who couldn’t accept what he had become. She was a good wife but she broke their vows, not by committing adultery, she was there for him for the good, better, best, bad, worse and he appreciated that, she left at his worst times.Still,he talked to her as a loving husband, their love remained in their hearts but he ruined the opportunity for it to blossom.

He asked her for a family meeting so they could talk, being the kind  mother and wife  she was,Kate couldn’t deny him what he wanted.God knows how much she wanted to watch over him every other day and make him laugh. His condition scared the children,so there was no way she would let them live in fear of him.He had become unpredictable. He inhaled a poisonous gas while at his new job and what was left of him was loneliness, jobless, moneyless , family less and a mental illness.

The mining job seemed promising at first, the allowances were so appealing for a man with a young family no education and broke. He didn’t think twice, only one word was ringing in his mind when he took the job,FAMILY.He did not take a look at the contract he signed. Now he feels as if he had sold his soul to them.He always wore a gas mask so his health would not be affected but still it did not help.

He opened up on the reason for taking the job even when he knew his chances of his health being affected was high.He wept bitterly because his children could not look him in the eye. They were ashamed of him,but on this day,God softened and enlightened the children’s hearts. They asked for forgiveness and cried with him,his wife joined them too.

A family separated by a sad reality was reunited and this time nothing would detach them from each other.God helped him draw the curtain which blocked the pleasant light from shining on his family.
